Jonah Matranga is the kind of guy who asks you what songs you want to hear. He’s the kind of guy who asks you how you are, the kind of guy who, when you mention you’ll probably miss half of the set (because you have to catch the train home. Typical), says he’ll play your requests to open the gig, so you’ll make the most of it.
Jonah Matranga is the kind of guy who keeps his promises, and who turns your silly anecdote about French proms into a great banter, before playing “This is the part”. He’s the kind of guy who plays with his heart wide open, he’s the kind of guy who makes the crowd smile and smiles back at them.
He’s the kind of guy who makes you realise, that everything is possible, as long as you want to. That music is definitely a part of you.
He’s the guy who made me forget about my fear of travelling late at night. He’s also the one who turns an entire crowd into singing and smiling while he covers Prince. When I left the place, the entire street was surrounded by claps and cheers. Happy sounds, I was no longer scared.
Here’s to funny anecdotes, French Existentialism, geekism, energy and love.
Thank you, Jonah.
